Danilith Nokere Koerse 2018. Jakobsen utrał nosa faworytom

21-letni Fabio Jakobsen (Quick-Step Floors) wygrał 72. edycję belgijskiego wyścigu Nokere Koerse.

Holender na finiszu z okrojonej grupy pokonał Amaury’ego Capiota (Sport Vlaanderen – Baloise) i Hugo Hofstettera (Cofidis).

Na 10. miejscu finiszował Kamil Gradek (CCC Sprandi Polkowice).

Wyścig Nokere Koerse jest przedwstępem do kluczowych belgijskich klasyków. W środę zawodnikom przyszło rywalizować w dobrych warunkach atmosferycznych. Do pokonania mieli 22 sektory bruku, ale nie tej samej trudności co na Paryż-Roubaix.

Ucieczkę dnia uformowało ośmiu zawodników: Daniel Turek (Israel Cycling Academy), Ivo Oliveira (Hagens Berman Axeon), Rob Ruijgh (Tarteletto – Isorex), Connor Dunn (Aqua Blue Sport), Yannick Martinez (Delko Marseille), Simon Seiller (Direct Energie), Timothy Stevens (Cibel – Cebon) i Martijn Budding (Roompot – Nederlandse Loterij). Eskapada szybko wypracowała ponad 8 minut przewagi i żwawo pokonywała kolejne kilometry.

Peleton kontrolował odjazd, na czele  migały różne koszulki, a to świadczyło o tym, że kilka ekip ma interes w tym, aby dogonić ucieczkę. Widoczni byli kolarze CCC Sprandi Polkowice.

Nieco ponad 50 kilometrów przed metą doszło do kraksy, w której ucierpieli m.in. Wout Van Aert (Vérandas Willems-Crelan ) i Christopher Lawless (Team Sky). Przewaga ucieczki systematycznie spadała i 40 kilometrów przed metą wynosiła 3 minuty.

32 kilometry przed metą od peletonu oderwała się grupka zawodników, w której kręcili m.in. Pascal Ackermann (Bora-hansgrohe), Nathan Van Hooydonck, Loic Vliegen (BMC Racing), Baptiste Planckaert (Katusha-Alpecin) i Wout Van Aert, Pieter Serry, Florian Senechal (Quick-Step Floors), Alex Kirsch (WB Aqua Protect Veranclassic) i Jasper Philipsen (Hagens Berman Axeon).  Nieco później na atak z ucieczki zdecydował się Dunne.

Na 17 kilometrów przed metą grupy jadące przed peletonem połączyły się, a ich strata do samotnego Dunne’a wynosiła 30 sekund. Różnica pomiędzy peletonem, a pościgiem oscylowała w podobnych granicach.

Współpraca w grupie pościgowej zdecydowanie się nie układała, przez co na 11 kilometrów przed metą peleton wchłonął 17-osobową grupkę. Na następnym kilometrze złapany został Dunne.

Na 5 kilometrów przed metą tempo w głównej grupie napędzał niezmordowany Wout Van Aert. Na finiszu niespodziewanie najlepszy był 21-Fabio Jakobsen, który odniósł wyraźne i zasłużone zwycięstwo.
