Rune Herregodts (Sport Vlaanderen-Baloise) zdobył holenderską jednodniówkę Albert Achterhes Profronde van Drenthe.

23-letni Belg odniósł swoje pierwsze zawodowe zwycięstwo, wyprzedzając Andreę Pasqualona (Intermarche-Wanty).

Polskich kolarzy zabrakło na starcie.

Zasadniczo płaska trasa wyścigu prowadziła na długości 189 kilometrów. W pierwszej części znalazło się 6 duktów leśnych, w drugiej 5 podjazdów na częściowo wybrukowany VAM-Berg (0,5 km; 4,2%). Z ostatniego pozostawało do mety 14 kilometrów.
