Nokere Koerse – Danilith Classic 2016

Timothy Dupont (Verandas Willems) wygrał 71. edycję belgijskiego wyścigu poświęconego pamięci Julesa Lowie, urodzonego w Nokere zwycięzcy Paryż-Nicea z 1938 roku.

Belg na finiszu na brukowanym Nokerebergu pokonał Norwega Kristoffera Halvorsena oraz Holendra Dylana Groenewegena (Team LottoNL – Jumbo).

Najwyżej z polskich zawodników, na 26. miejscu, przyjechał Łukasz Wiśniowski (Etixx – Quick Step).

Ucieczkę na 200-kilometrowej trasie naznaczonej 10 wspinaczkami pod Nokereberg podjęli Tom Devriendt (Wanty-Groupe Gobert), Florian Sénéchal (Cofidis), David Boucher (Crelan-Vastgoedservice), Kevyn Ista (Wallonie-Bruxelles), Brian Van Goethem (Roompot Oranje Peloton), Kenny De Ketele (TopSport Vlaanderen-Baloise) i Samuel Williams (ONE Pro Cycling).

Siódemka uzyskała zaledwie dwie i pół minuty przewagi nad peletonem i bez nadziei na odniesienie końcowego triumfu kręciła na czele. Dystans spadł do minuty na 60 kilometrów przed metą, gdy ekipy Lotto Soudal i Etixx-Quick Step wprowadziły grupę zasadniczą na ostatnie cztery kółka.

45 kilometry przed metą tempo podkręcili kolarze Patricka Lefevere’a, po kilku kilometrach kasując odjazd. Nie zdało się to nie wiele i żadna z ekip WorldTour nie była w stanie zapanować nad rozrywaną atakami grupą. Na czele mignął Adrian Kurek (CCC Sprandi Polkowice), a po serii ataków 20 sekund uzyskali Loic Chetout (Cofidis) i Martin Mortensen (ONE Pro Cycling).

Dwójka nie zajechała daleko, gdyż sprawy w swoje ręce zdecydowali się wziąć kolarze Lotto Soudal i Team Sky. Narzucone mocne tempo powstrzymało atakujących i na ostatnie dwa okrążenia wjechał mocno naciągnięty peleton. Na czele pokazywał się także Łukasz Wiśniowski, ale ekipa Etixx-Quick Step nie chciał wziąć na sobie odpowiedzialności, poprzestając na spokojnym kontrolowaniu kolejnych ataków.

19 kilometrów przed metą doszło do sporej kraksy, w której ucierpiało kilku kolarzy Lotto Soudal. W zamieszaniu powstały różnice i na wjeździe na ostatnie kółko peleton stracił kilkunastu zawodników.

Atakowali Pieter Jacobs (Crelan-Vastgoedservice), Daniele Colli (Nippo-Vini Fantini), Kenneth Vanbilsen (Cofidis) oraz Sean de Bie (Lotto Soudal), ale na 4,5 kilometra przed metą kontrował Wiśniowski, szybko mijając harcowników i rozpoczynając solowy rajd.

Polak na czele wytrwał nieco ponad kilometr – jego akcję zakończyli kolarze Verandas Willems, biorąc na siebie odpowiedzialność za prowadzenie wyścigu i zwycięsko wychodząc z walki na łokcie z ekipami Cofidis i Bora-Argon 18. Pracy kolegów na brukowanym Nokerebergu nie zmarnował Timothy Dupont, na kresce minimalnie pokonując Kristoffera Halvorsena z norweskiej ekipy Joker.
