Eneco Tour 2015: etap 7

Tim Wellens (Lotto-Soudal) powtórzył zeszłoroczne zwycięstwo w wyścigu Eneco Tour. Ostatni odcinek po ucieczce zapisał na koncie Manuel Quinziato.

35-letni Włoch z BMC Racing Team zaatakował 6 kilometrów przed metą, pokonując Bjorna Leukemansa (Wanty) i Yvesa Lampaerta (Etixx-Quick Step).

17 flandryjskich bergów czekało podczas finałowego etapu ścigania w Beneluksie, w tym na końcowych 60 kilometrach trasa prowadziła przez brukowane 3 x Denderoordberg (700 m; 8%), 2 x Muur-Kapelmuur (1,1 km; 8%), 2 x Bosberg (1 km; 6%) i 2 x Onkerzelestraat (1,5 km; 3%).

W zawiązanej krótko po starcie ucieczce znaleźli miejsce Yves Lampaert, Manuel Quinziato, Marco Coledan (Trek), Moreno Hofland (LottoNL), Rudiger Selig (Katusha), Roberto Ferrari (Lampre-Merida), Adam Blythe (Orica), Kristijan Koren (Cannondale), Nico Denz (Ag2r), Dylan Groenewegen (Roompot), Jans Roy (Wanty), Georg Preidler (Giant), Tim Kerkhof (Roompot) i Bjorn Leukemans. Przewaga czternastki urosła do 4:25.

Po zaliczeniu Muuru (51 km przed metą) z przodu pozostali Leukemans, Lampaert i Quinziato. Peleton prowadziła ekipa Lotto-Soudal. Tempo pościgu nie było wysokie, gdyż 38 kilometrów przed kreską różnica urosła z 2 do ponad 3 minut.

Powtórka z Muuru (26 km) ścieśniła nieco różnicę. 2 minuty traciła kontratakująca grupa, w której byli Michael Valgren (Tinkoff), Simon Geschke (Giant), Dries Devenyns (IAM), Georg Preidler (Giant), Johnny Hoogerland (Roompot), Stijn Vandenbergh (Etixx) i Gijs Van Hoecke (Topsport Vlaanderen). Przebudził się również peleton.

Ucieczka trzymała się jednak dzielnie, z każdą chwilą szanse powodzenia akcji rosły. Na Denderoordberg (6 km) rozpoczęła się rozgrywka o etap. Ruszył Quinziato. Lampaert nie znalazł odpowiedzi na ruch doświadczonego Włocha, próbował natomiast Leukemans, ale i jemu zabrakło na to sił.

Ostatecznie zawodnik BMC bezpiecznie dojechał po zwycięstwo etapowe, podobnie jak Tim Wellnes w peletonie po generalny sukces w wyścigu.
