Bob Jungels (Trek Factory Racing) triumfem na trasie 12-kilometrowej jazdy na czas zapewnił sobie zwycięstwo w klasyfikacji generalnej 45. edycji francuskiej etapówki.

Luksemburczyk zmiażdżył konkurencję, na trasie krótkiego etapu wyprzedzając o 19 sekund Francuza Tony’ego Gallopina (Lotto Soudal) oraz o 20 sekund Włocha Fabio Felline (Trek Factory Racing).

18. czas wykręcił Mateusz Taciak (CCC Sprandi Polkowice).

Jungles w klasyfikacji generalnej wyprzedził Gallopina, a podium imprezy dopełnił Belg Kris Boeckmans (także Lotto Soudal).

Wczesnowiosenny wyścig tradycyjnie kończą zmagania w jeździe na czas w miejscowości Alès. Dystans 11,9 kilometra, z niewielkim podjazdem na metę, w pierwszej części zmagań najszybciej pokonał Mateusz Taciak (CCC Sprandi Polkowice). Polak utrzymywał się przez dłuższą chwilę na prowadzeniu by zostać zluzowanym przez armadę ekipy Trek Factory Racing, która w końcówce zmagań zajmowała przez chwilę całe podium.

Czołowa dziesiątka mierzyła się z czasem młodego Luksemburczyka – Boba Jungelsa (Trek Factory Racing) – który na trasie dał z siebie wszystko by odrobić 30 sekund straty do prowadzącego w klasyfikacji generalnej Edwarda Theunsa (TopSport Vlaanderen – Baloise).

Swojej pozycji jak lew bronił Tony Gallopin, do czasówki przystępujący jako wicelider imprezy. Francuz zdołał wykręcić drugi czas, ale ani jemu, ani jadącemu w koszulce lidera Theunsowi nie udało się pokonać fruwającego 22-latka, który na mecie cieszył się z podwójnego zwycięstwa.

Taciak sklasyfikowany został na 18. pozycji ze stratą 44 sekund. Nieco więcej, 1:06, stracił jego drużynowy kolega Davide Rebellin. Słabo wypadli pozostali reprezentanci polskiej ekipy, do Jungelsa notując straty w przedziale 2 do 2:30.
