Le Samyn 2014

Maxime Vantomme (Roubaix – Lille Métropole) wygrał 46. edycję walońskiej jedniodniówki Le Samyn. Belg na finiszu z peletonu pokonał Alexeya Tsatveicha (Katusha) i Nacera Bouhanniego (FDJ.fr).

Na 17. miejscu wyścig ukończył Maciej Paterski (CCC Polsat).

Wyścig przez długie kilometry toczył się pod znakiem ucieczki w składzie Nico Sijmens (Wanty), Glenn van de Maele (T.Palm – Pôle Continental Wallon) i Romain Hubert (Color Code Biowanze). Harcownicy wypracowali kilka minut przewagi. 90 km przed metą wynosiła 3 minuty.

Druga część trasy prowadziła na pokonywanej 4 razy pętli o długości 21,3 km z dwoma małymi podjazdami, Côte de la Roquette i Côte d’Audregnies (na metę).

Sytuację kontrolowała Omega Pharma, kończąc akcję, gdy pozostało całe 59 kilometrów. Belgijska ekipa starała się rozerwać peleton, co udało się na tyle, że odjechał jej zawodnik Thomas de Gendt w towarzystwie Alexisa Gougearda (Ag2r).

Dwójka uciekła na niespełna 50 sekund, ale 22 km przed metą było już i po tej akcji. Taki rozwój sprawy sprowokował do kontrataku dziesiątkę, w tym Jarosława Marycza (CCC Polsat). Grupce udało się zdobyć 21 sekund.

Marycz postanowił przypomnieć o swoich dawnych przewagach w samotnej jeździe, atakując z grupki 11,5 km przed kreską. Ruch Polaka zakończył się szybko fiaskiem.

Peleton zachowywał spokój, dościgając uciekinierów 3,3 km przed metą. Na wyczerpującej końcówce skoczył jeszcze mistrz Rosji Vladimir Isaychev (Katusha), ale ostatecznie zwycięzcę wyłonił masowy sprint.
