Maciej Paterski signs with CCC Polsat Polkowice

Maciej Paterski has signed two-year contract with Polish team CCC Polsat Polkowice. 27-year-old is the last rider to join the ranks of ProContinetal group, securing his future after a period of uncertainty and problems with finding a team on World Tour level.

Paterski started racing in Italy in 2008. Following good performance in Baby Giro d’Italia and other U-23 races he signed with Liquigas for 2010. Today, after 4 years with Italian team, 27-year-old rider struggled to find an offer for next year and decided to join the Polish squad.

– I am really happy to have Maciek on our team. As Polish team selector and directeur sportif of CCC Polsat I’ve been following his performances for years. He has always been showing a lot of ambition and determination. Having him on a team, we will try to give him the possibility to use his abilities and experience gained during years of racing at the highest level. CCC Polsat stays a ProContinental team and we believe that his experience will help us throughout the year, especially during one-day races

– team’s DS Piotr Wadecki said in a press release.

Paterski’s best result this year is 3rd place in GP Industria & Commercio di Prato. He was also visible in breakaways during Tour de Pologne and Eneco Tour, where he narrowly missed a stage win, coming in 3rd to the line of stage 6. Paterski was also named one of nine Polish riders for World Championships in Florence, in rainy Tuscany finishing 19th in the elite men road race.

His career highlights feature top places in Italian one-day races – 4th in Giro del Friuli (2011), 5th in Coppa Bernocchi (2011) and 2nd place in team time trial during Vuelta a Espana in 2010. Paterski also took bronze in Polish National Championships in 2011.

Paterski is the last rider to join CCC Polsat team. The line-up for 2014 will consist of 18 riders, with Branislau Samoilau reinforcing the squad and Davide Rebellin extending his contract for one more year.
